Look at it all as if you’re providing value to your audience. That takes the pressure off. Focus on tone, annunciation and being calm and communicating

I think Kevin was offended by the treatment and the ‘special line’ of jars. You can do that deal with any influencer, which means, as you pointed out, Kevin was not given the respect he deserves as an investor. I also think that they may have come on the tank only for the exposure as their ask was steep and unrealistic.
I am happy they didn’t get a deal because they are growing a lot so they don’t need it
His focus appears to be more financial companies now which is not in shark tanks wheelhouse.

Dry curry leaves are grown in backyards and kitchens in India haha and we use ‘‘em fresh, in Indian stores you get 1.75 for 2$ this website lists 0.8 oz for 11.99 hahahaha … a 6 fold increase in something so basic to South Indian food.
As someone who cooks often at home and who has used Burlap and Barrel since 2020, I can confidently say none of the sharks know enough about niche culinary sources to have any sense of growth potential, and the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow claimed otherwise is just further evidence she is lost in her own echo chamber — granted, the evidence of that was already Mt. Everest-size.
The spice market has always been large — it’s one of the oldest commodities known to man — but the nature of that business has meant that more than 99% of what is sold is of the lowest quality, warehoused so long that what little flavor and aroma that once existed evaporates, since spices lose their potency as they dry out.
That why B&B has seen such a steep growth curve, as have some other niche sellers in culinary who have carved out space by focusing on quality, authenticity, and sustainability, qualities that any good home or restaurant cook values.
The main health benefit is this: When you replace conventional, mass-produced spices with smaller-batch, higher quality spices, what you cook tastes better, and so you end up cooking more often rather than rely on processed foods and take-out food that are loaded with simple carbs and sodium. You still salt what you cook, but the amount you use is a tiny fraction of what you will find in almost all packaged, prepared foods from a grocer freezer or a box loaded with preservatives.
