Uhh, where is the darn lunch box, Modern Picnic, for a man? Gosh, it’s all female purses. Why not make a unisex Modern Picnic lunch carrier? Mo money, mo money if you appeal to both sexes obviously.
Most men would rather be seen carrying a paper bag than a purse.
I have their backpack. It’s great in theory but could barely fit my hp work laptop. I have a pouch for my cords and laptop battery and when I add it, there’s no room for anything else, including the lunch container they sell on their website. I added this feedback on their website, only for my review to get deleted.
wow!
Is this business actually fulfilling a need? I understand the premise, but there doesn’t seem to be a real need. There are so many cheaper and effective solutions. Not to mention, “vegan leather” is not the draw it is marketed to be. I commend the entrepreneur’s ambition, but there are too many pointless derivative brands in the market selling products that lead to further waste (money, time, resource, environmental etc.).
Very strong lisp
@@Jay-om8grdon’t be jealous lol
The name of the product is misleading. Her product has zero to do with a picnic.
She is pricing herself out of the market. The advertising, and her general marketing, should be marketed to more accessible customers. In all actuality, she is paying to advertise to customers who aren’t her customers. She just wants them to be because they’re the target market she envisioned.
The pet pictures don’t scream luxury but it does scream Cricut.
If Barbara was there she would have set her straight!
She probably would have secured a deal if had not raised so much money. Great points regarding building slowly and being mindful of when to scale versus when not to. Good show Joe!
but also she is spending 1.2mil on marketing to sell 2Mil. makes no sense
Thanks Joe for the great content!!! I can’t stand the idea of putting food in a purse. It just feels sacrilegious! Most of my colleagues go in on takeout together cuz groceries are so expensive and restos are the same price. Also I guarantee it will end up smelling. That’s why tin lunch boxes are best–they don’t really absorb odour and you can chuck it in the dishwasher.
The material on the inside is specifically designed to counteract that, and it’s easy to wipe down and clean. You’re just making an assumption based on what you think a regular purse would smell like.
Welcome back Joe! We missed you!
Thank you!! 🙂
Its plastic
The backpack is beautiful, I would use it as a normal bag with or mostly without bringing lunch. Been looking for a clean, stylish, vegan leather backpack for months, this is the closet I’ve found and would gladly pay for it – seen so many heinous bags in the same pricepoint (or higher) and don’t double as a cooler. I’m in.
These are not new. They’ve tried to market these for holding baby bottles in purses in the 1980’s. Probably before.
It had removable insulation to wash the bag/purse & outer pouches for diapers and wipes
And another section for makeup bags and regular purse junk
The idea was to create a cooler bag to look like designer purses.
Remember them banning these types of purses at concerts, cuz people were bringing in rootbeer
Why not use a cute tote bag to carry your lunch ? Lol if the aesthetic is the problem there are sooooo many cheaper and stylish solutions out there. I’m shocked she raised so much money honestly.
