Waterfront Ventures is an organization and community that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, business owners, and technology enthusiasts.
Check out the first time I was at Waterfront Ventures back in May of 2016!
PACT for Animals is a champion of the Human-Animal Bond. PACT gives peace of mind to hospital patients and military personnel by placing their pets in temporary foster homes until their owners can be reunited with the companion animals they love.
Every year thousands of companion animals are surrendered into animal shelters due to temporary crises. By providing access to safe foster homes for animals until their human companions can take them back, PACT reduces the number of animals in animal shelters and gives the owners peace of mind that their best friends will not be lost, abused, or euthanized.
We are the ONLY active non-profit organization in the country providing this unique, essential service in the animal welfare community, and all PACT Programs are FREE! PACT carefully screens every case to find the perfect match of Foster Home and Foster Pet. Foster families are in constant contact with the military/hospitalized owners providing regular updates, including photos, messages and videos of their beloved pets. For many people in a hospital bed, on deployment, or in another crisis situation, these emails are a comfort for their raw nerves, and the best thing they see all week!
When people are fighting for their health or fighting for our country, no one should have to worry about the safety of their best friends. Our foster programs save lives with every successful crisis rescue, foster placement, and joyful reunion. At PACT we believe in keeping families together and building strong communities willing to protect the Human-Animal Bond.
Our work is necessary in the animal welfare community and we love what we do!

]]>The truth is there are many unknowns in the world and one of them is all the details of the life and times of Adam Brick Guy’s founder, Adam. Sure, he has a few brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents, and a few stories of growing up as both an Aussie and American. All in all, what he was then, is what he is now – passionate about giving back, making a community of do-gooders and of course, showing the economics of it all – the benefits exceed the costs!
Over the years, Adam Brick Guy honed his life dreams into reality, by learning the ways of the Economics and Accounting ninjas at the University of North Texas, he achieved his college degrees. Even continuing his path of enlightenment at Texas A & M University achieving a nirvana (or academically speak for Master of Science) in Accounting. Never shying away from making the world a better place, Adam always gave generously of his time and energies while at school.
Now located in Houston, Adam has made a Texas size home for himself in the hearts of many of his fellow co-workers and friends. By day working for one of the largest oil companies in the world, Adam is surrounded by spreadsheets, reports and other data to make the business side of him quite happy. On the evenings and weekends, when not thinking or working on Adam Brick Guy, mentoring or one of the other thousand things he is involved in locally, he enjoys reading, studying and staying fit. While doing all at the same time isn’t the best idea, Adam finds time to do them separately as well as enjoy trivia nights, dinner out with friends and laughing, mostly at his friends.
For Adam, Adam Brick Guy is more than colorful bricks, it is about where passion meets action. Consciously doing the right thing for at-risk kids with a sound economic plan to make a difference, that is Adam and that is Adam Brick Guy.
“Seeing an entire room of kids having a good time playing with bricks, that’s my perfect moment.” – Adam, founder of Adam Brick Guy

I am so happy to bring a very special little girl named Alex McKelvey today! Her mom Sarah was so nice to get back to me so I could share Alex’s story with all of you. And I am so proud of her and her new found goal of adding yet another zero to her 600 random acts of kindness!
Alex Mckelvey’s project started in September 2013, when her grandmother died. To honor her life, Alex and her family vowed to complete 60 acts of kindness by what would have been her grandmother’s 60th birthday on March 22, 2014, The News Tribune reported. When she met that goal last year, Alex raised the bar and aimed to complete 600 acts of kindness by the same date in 2015.
“I picked 600 because it was 10 times more than 60,” said Alex McKelvey. “And we’re not going to stop there. We’re going to do thousands, then a million. I’d like to reach so many people.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR DREAMERS!!! I hope you all are planning to make 2015 the best year of your lives, with even the smallest steps towards making your dreams a reality can lead to huge life changing events! I am so happy to have Wesley Chapman on my show today to talk about his A Human Project. Wes and I also talk about a great topic for today which is how goal setting with New Years Resolutions can be destructive to your psyche. As we celebrate the future today and remember the past, let’s keep our goals huge and obtainable by breaking them down to smaller achievable steps so we don’t discourage ourselves from accomplishment.
I love Wesley Chapman’s vision for children who have less than ideal environments to grow up in. Starting A Human Project has helped add clarity to Wes’ life and I am honored to be able to share his story and where he is heading with his organization.
I encourage you all to goto A Human Project.com and donate to help this great cause! If you can’t donate, please fill out your email address on the website and a $1 will be donated to the cause for you automagically. Together we can make a difference for all of our futures. It’s a small world, and every child matters when it comes to creating communities of tomorrow.
I hope you all have a magical and safe New Years Eve!

]]>Danny Rosin cofounded Band Together as a way to help families of the victims of 9/11 due to feeling helpless right after tragic 9/11 events. Flash forward 13 years later and Band Together is currently trending toward million dollar concert events! The organization is unique because it reinvents itself every year by helping raise funds and awareness for a different cause. Danny his a story of how important it is to give back – even when it is hardest. You will be inspired by his ability to balance work, charity and family even when times are toughest.
Band Together takes place in North Carolina right now, and is currently the largest music based charity in the Southeast! Along with this volunteer-driven organization, Band Together doesn’t plan to stop there! There is discussion of the possibility of growing outside of NC’s borders and creating a Band Together tour across the US, helping more cities and more people, leveraging the powerful medium of live music.
Thirteen years in the making and only getting bigger and stronger as the years go by, Band Together is a great example of what can happen when you put the needs of others in front of the needs of yourself!
I’m really happy that Danny and I were able to chat, and it’s all thanks to Megan Erber of Brynn Speaks Promo who was on episode 19 of Dreamers Podcast!
