I have always loved bringing people together. My roots in hosting big events started with my family’s multi- million dollar company bringing 1,000 customers a year together for a vendor show. As I got older I got into throwing DJ parties and LAN parties. My love of the podcasting community made it a perfect fit for him to throw my first podcasting conference in September 2015. This is where I incorporated traditional conference structure with outside the box sessions.

What is Independent Podcast Conference (ICON)?

ICON originally started out as Mid-Atlantic Podcast started (December 2014) as a Facebook group for podcasters who live in the Mid-Atlantic States (North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Connecticut). The idea was to bring podcasters together for meetups, Google Hangouts and eventually grow into conferences. After seeing the interest to have a podcast (exclusive) conference in the northeast, Joe Pardo jumped on the opportunity to make it happen.

Independent Podcast Conference is an extension of Super Joe Pardo’s passion to host amazing events with great people.

What kind of events does ICON host?

Ticketed In-Person Conferences

We have been holding an annual podcasting conference since September 2015 with a growing number year over year with our grass roots approach. Our events are a single track, so that means everyone that attends is in the same room throughout the event. This gives you plenty of time to interact and network with podcasters at all different parts of their journey.

Free Live Virtual Conferences

With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the need for people to shelter in place. Super Joe jumped into action and put together the first every ICON Virtual Conference in March 2020. Which turned into a 2 day event that has reached over 3,000 views on the Facebook Live video. The amount of audience interaction and retention is through the roof and what started out as a one-off event has turned into a regular event to bring podcasters together.

What are Super Conferences?
