is she talking about JW? idk…people can believe whatever they wish, but to say one grew up in a household where myths were not celebrated, may not be such a bad thing. certainly not a ‘cult’ – like the one the entire holiday is predicated upon, let alone the santa myth.

I used to be a JW, even served as a Ministry Servant. They are a full blown control cult. Not celebrating holidays is the tip of the iceberg of things wrong with them.

Dumb decision. Are you kidding me? Barbara has several holiday entrepreneurs in her portfolio as she said, and Barbara is fantastic at marketing and moreover, Barbara is meticulous. This entrepreneur only looked at the lowest equity offered which was Kevin at 15%. Barbara is worth the 20% equity and she has the “female touch” which is great for a children’s-/family focused product.
yes that is my niece i have never met her. my mother gloria is a insane Jehovah’s witness. my mother took away all our holidays and has not spoken to me her oldest son since 1975. Jehovah’s witness ruins family’s they think they are gods people and get to live forever
Yeah religion messes everyone up. Anything where the more engaged you are with it, the more weird you get…I mean, that’s not a good sign.

Why don’t you talk to her if you have both left the cult? I thought for sure she was IBLP! Another messed up cult disguised as religion! Thank goodness she left and her children are free!
It’s a bummer you haven’t met Miranda, she’s a sweetheart. I first met her 25 years ago in the cult, I use to babysit her and her older sister. (Not mentioning nemes out of respect for privacy.) I hope you some day reach out to her since neither of you are in the cult anymore.
But which of your kids gets the elf? Having four very young nieces, they need to be treated equally. Otherwise you’re in for a tantrum from one of them! They’re really well behaved, but even at three, kids are aware of fairness. Also, it’s expensive.
When she said she grew up in a cult where she didn’t celebrate holidays and birthdays, I immediately knew she was referring to Jehovah’s Witnesses. I was raised in that religion also. I have to agree with her calling it a cult. I appreciate her being discreet about them and keeping the episode positive.
I have these Tomte Cake pans and my boys LOVE it! And they didn’t really describe how delicious the cakes are and the fact that they give you a recipe.
