Linus, from LTT, did a video about the paint job on his new house. He talked about how specific the painting contract was, at Linus’ insistence. The painter still screwed the paint job up. You should watch the video, and perhaps do a breakdown of his experience. The video is about a year old.

I couldn’t recall if I had seen the video. I watched it, and he is absolutely in the right thanks to the contract. I’m curious as to where he found this painter in the first place. I don’t think I could add much to his video because I would share the same frustration. I almost wonder if the company was lax due to them thinking he was just a youtuber or whatever and not going to notice or pay attention. Little did they know, he was a painter for years lol.
I’m a grad student in library science and this whole video I was shocked the contractor didn’t keep receipts but the customer had meticulous records. It’s important to have your own system to save receipts and important papers!
If I were to guess, the contractor thought the defendant would be a pushover, due to his poor English.
@Locutus That’s definitely a possibility.
I appreciate you watching and commenting Jad Lad! Yeah, it is poor practice to not keep the receipts.
My dad did Airbnb. When he was telling me that he bought a house for it, I asked him, have you got permission from the government to do that? He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s all good. I said, fair enough!
About a year later, the neighbours complained about “transients” using the house. The local government came by, and said to him he needed to be licensed and need to shut it down until they come to a decision whether to licence it or not.
In the end, they didn’t approve it, and the local government then contacted every other Airbnb on the island that was not approved, to immediately cancel any outstanding reservations. Overnight, the vast majority of the Airbnbs in the island were no longer available, all because my dad didn’t seek planning permission!!!
Geez! That really sucks to hear. And I assume this is in England?
@Joe Pardo It was in the Island of Jersey (which is New Jersey’s namesake). My dad and I both from Jersey, but I live in the UK mainland, and my dad, Jersey. Jersey (and Guernsey), are similar to how Puerto Rico is to the USA – The simplest way to explain to Americans. PR comes under the USA, but it’s not part of the USA.

Ah ok! Love that we share the Jersey namesake! And I didn’t realize that it was separate like PR. 🙂
Oh man, Joe. You do Judge Judy now? Who are you? Who sent you? Why are you trying to get me addicted to your channel?
Haha this is the second Judge Judy video I’ve done. I’d like to do more. Just wish they got more views like Shark Tank to justify the time.
