Krystian Leonard returns to Dreamers Podcast for the first time since becoming Miss West Virginia Three Rivers Festival Queen!
Krystian Leonard is an 19 year old WVU College student and award-winning author and advocate with an adventurous spirit. She dedicates countless hours volunteering and supporting various charities annually. Since her journey into self-acceptance began, Krystian wrote her first children’s book at age 15, titled Shining Scars, a Mom’s Choice Award recipient, which was published by Headline Books, as a way to meet the need of children just like herself, who are healing and living with visible scars.
Krystian founded and now serves as the President of her non-profit organization Shining S.C.A.R.S. as an outreach to help others. With the help of local sponsors and fundraising events, Krystian has been able to travel spreading her message of self-acceptance both near and far. She donates copies of her children’s book and regularly speaks at area schools and clubs.
She has appeared in the Indie Award winning book Who I Am: American Scar Stories, by Jenny Cutler Lopez. And is a co-author for the Best Selller for Contagious Optimism book 2 – 10 Habits of Truly Optimistic People by David Mezzapple. Krystian was a keynote speaker at the Contagious Optimism Live event in Jupiter Florida, as well as TEDx Boca Raton New Beginnings, and Next Gen Summit.
Krystian received the innagural Next Gen Summit Humanitarian 2015 Award, in Austin Texas. She was recently recognized as one of 99 Most Inspirational Women for 2016, and will appear in the book99 Most Inspirational Women book 2, by Bri Seeley due out this year.
