With 5 years under his belt working at Activision, Guy realized he was totally
burnt out with the video game industry. On a whim, he seen that Touringplans.com
was looking for a person to work on researching Disneyland full-time.

Quickly, Guy found himself working for TouringPlans.com and traveling into
Disneyland (his office, as he calls it) on a daily basis. He discusses the
changes that he needed to make to adjust to working from home (which he loves).

Guy Selga is a friend of mine that I met through the Disney community a couple
years back. When he told me he would be working for TouringPlans, I was
extremely excited for him! And now, I currently write for TouringPlans.com, you
can see the first post I wrote here.

11
00:00:48,320 — 00:00:51,680
yeah except that I think that one time I
don’t know if you were on for that last

12
00:00:51,680 — 00:00:54,500
time we got together but let’s start by
giving the audience some background

13
00:00:54,500 — 00:00:55,430
about yourself

14
00:00:55,430 — 00:00:59,809
well I currently work for touring plans
. com helping people plan their disney

15
00:00:59,809 — 00:01:05,570
vacations but before that I worked in
the Quality Assurance industry for about

16
00:01:05,570 — 00:01:09,649
nine years i started at Activision when
i was $DAY i think was 19 years old

17
00:01:09,650 — 00:01:13,670
actually I was my second job i worked at
blockbuster video for a year before that

18
00:01:13,670 — 00:01:18,259
and so I was I was always been the video
games so I really wanted to work in the

19
00:01:18,259 — 00:01:21,650
video game industry and I was a young
and dumb enough to think that that would

20
00:01:21,650 — 00:01:26,180
be a viable thing that I could keep
running for a while I worked at vision

21
00:01:26,180 — 00:01:32,179
for five years got burnt out by the
constant over time at that company so i

22
00:01:32,179 — 00:01:37,159
left for another smaller studio that I
ended up working like three times as

23
00:01:37,159 — 00:01:40,549
much overtime then I went back to
activision after year and stayed there

24
00:01:40,549 — 00:01:45,200
for another couple years and then at the
end of that I was fully burnt out of the

25
00:01:45,200 — 00:01:48,859
video game industry and I said okay this
time I’m done for real and so a

26
00:01:48,859 — 00:01:53,389
recruiter actually contacted me to work
at directv and I worked in their quality

27
00:01:53,389 — 00:01:57,439
assurance department for about two years
and then I realized that I was

28
00:01:57,439 — 00:02:01,369
completely done with quality assurance
at some point and then the position
