Do you have the power to let power go in your business?
Let Power Go And Set Yourself Free!
As entrepreneurs and business owners we generally start out bootstrapping our business efforts. Taking on as many jobs as we can possibly can because while we don’t have money to pay for people to help us. But when it comes to time we have plenty of time to invest which many times winds up driving us into the ground. Are you strong enough to let power go to set yourself free?
I have been building my business around all of my skills for the first two years. Taking on all of the tasks head-on all on my own because money has been tight along the way. Having written two books, produced nearly 250 episodes of Dreamers Podcast, online courses, speaking gigs, coaching clients, web design clients, the Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference, Adventurtorium, t-shirts, Monthly Card Club, MovyMail.com, and so much more. Having nearly full creative control and full responsibilities over getting things done is just how I tend to roll. It is not that I am a total control freak (OK, maybe a little), or feel that I am the only one who can do a great job on delivering the goods when it comes to my projects and clients. The issue is my constant worry about spending too much money without enough return to be able to pay someone for help.
How this changes..
So, recently I have had a few people reach out who want to help me with various projects I have going on. I am super thankful for all of the help and support even though I am still skeptical of putting myself in the role of depending on others. I tend to move quickly when there is something that I have my eyes set on. I am sure many of you feel the same way when it comes to your business.
As my wife and I have recently had our first child, Ava, come into our lives my time has become super limited. So every moment I have to work on my business needs to be calculated and justified money wise. You could say that Ava is my biggest client who pays her bill in love and smiles. It has monopolized my time and made my time even more valuable money wise.
I am finally taking the plunge to let power go by hiring someone to help me on the speaking side of my career. I am nervous that I will be let down by the perfectionist expectations that I tend to have. Let power go and the results will let us fly higher, harder and faster. Let power go, see the future, trust yourself to make the right decisions, and let it set you free. Make time to create more, live life more, gain ground in your business and watch the money pile up.
Let me know in the comments what your experience was like when you let power go.
It’s time to lift off. (-:
