Hmmm, I’m not sure if those are indeed patent protected. But they have the numbers and they’ve been in business for a while now so there’s that. But I’ve been buying compression/padded socks for a while now (in fact I just bought new ones a few days ago) and it’s only around $5 a pair (converted from our local currency.) Most expensive were a pair with additional straps for more tightness and it was only around $12 a pair. It’s too expensive, I think.
Agree! I was disappointed when they revealed the price. I live in Colombia South America and 35 000 translates (shipped here with tax) to about 150 000 per pair – at least. The monthly minimum wage here is 970,000 COP so it’s easy to see that this price is absurd. Maybe people in the USA can afford them, but I can’t imagine many can. If you earn your living and need to use them to help you do so that is one thing. For casual users like me, for me it is a huge no at that price. Can you tell me what brand you buy, please? thanks

Dancers wear these especially contemporary dancers while dancing. Apolla make socks with grip on the bottom that you can wear down to the perfect grip (for dancing esp turning) and then spray with an adhesive spray to keep it there so you wear them in class. The prices are more comparable to dance shoes and you wear them like dance shoes – you wear them over and over again and do not wash often because dance shoes like ballet shoes are better when you don’t wash them. You can also wear the non-grip ones inside shoes for better support in or outside class but yes I would say they’ve been able to charge that much to dancers because it’s like buying dance shoes. 🙂 great episode loved your thoughts on the show!

Get rid of the dumb bell
My daughter used these for dance. They have saved her feet and joints, well worth they price I paid for them. She uses the longer socks for recovery and the short ones for dance. I highly recommend them for people who are active and need the extra support
