Joe I’m just curious to you think some of these pitches are crafted ahead of time by the entrepreneurs to break down and cry a bit not saying it’s not genuine but it seems so obvious at times
You have to remember that all these pitches are like 45 minutes each according to mark and Kevin. They have to cut out a lot because they need to fit all the pitches into one episode. I’m sure all these entrepreneurs that break down are actually talking about a lot of stuff before they break down and cry
That is a great question Dom. I believe most are genuine whether they mean to or not. As Mohsaic above said they are there for 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the company and they cut out a lot to get it down to the 8-10 minutes. So with the magic of editing it can come off seeming fake or forced at times. It really comes down to what storyline the Producers and Editors want to tell with the pitch.

I hope they are successful. They got Lori, my favorite shark! Their boards look really beautiful and they clearly know their stuff from their experience in high end catering. I worry, though, that charcuterie is a food trend that will pass, and then what?

Hwy Joe, i always had this question for most episodes, do you think some of the companies lie about their cost sometimes so they avoid people calling them out ? not saying specifically here, but i mean in general. I have asked this question here just because it was the newest video you have uploaded

I think the lying would be more reasonable in the opposite direction, pumping up the margin too high to attract the sharks. Or they didn’t calculate their numbers properly in the first place. I appreciate you both watching and commenting Charbel and Rkszhanna.

So they might up the margins, but wouldnt that put them at a risk to not close the deal when the show ends and both of their lawyers meet to make the deal?

You are correct, that definitely puts the deal in jeopardy for sure. But the exposure on Shark Tank might be all they are going for. Not enough people follow up afterwards to know if a deal did or didn’t close. And there are probably over half of the deals on the show never get settled.

I also make charcuterie boards as a side hustle and $229 for a charcuterie spread is actually cheap. I normally charge $300 coz its a lot of work (shopping for supplies, gas money, creativity for designs and my time). This business is so inspiring!
