Katherine is a friend of mine, that I met a few years ago at a party in New Hampshire. I didn’t realize at the time that she was living such a great life even with cerebral palsy. It is truly amazing that she found the courage to recognize her unhappiness with being a special education teacher. Katherine up and quit and sorted out her options after the fact. Such a shoot first and ask questions later approach is risky, but she took it head on and I can’t applaud her enough for it!

Finding her calling a few months later working for an advocacy group for people living with disabilities has been really impactful to Katherine. Getting to live a normal life with cerebral palsy makes her very fortunate, and using her difference to make a difference (to borrow a term from by good friend Tayo Rockson) makes her truly amazing! I am very happy to get to share her story with you today.
