Hey I’m Super Joe Pardo and this is how we episode 8!
I love my Audio-Technica ATR-6550 shotgun microphone. Being priced at around 50 dollars it is a valuable upgrade to your video setup. Previously in episode 4 I talked about my love of the Canon Vixia R500. This mic is a great pairing for any camera that has a 3.5mm mic jack input. It is battery powered by a single double A battery. It comes with it’s own hot show mount, a mic stand mount and even a great windscreen. The only thing I’m not a fan of is there is no light on the mic to let you know it is on. So don’t forget to turn it off when you aren’t using it or you’ll find the battery dead next time you go to use it. Overall it is leaps and bounds better than using the built in mic on the camera and doesn’t carry the cost of the rode mics.
