Love this! We have a staff outing every couple of months, which is nice to get to know each other, outside of the gym.
We do a staff/member’s events every 3-4 months. It’s a great way for the members, coaches, and staff to bond and see each other, as friends rather than just a coach/client relationship. It also helps to prevent cliques from forming, by bringing the AM & PM members together.
We also organize day/night’s out activities, for the members to do together. It strengthens their bonds and our community, here at the gym. There’s a group that likes to go to the movies, several small groups that like to prep meals together, some like to go dancing…
It’s been my experience that many will pay for a fitness program…but they stay for the things that separate us, from other gyms, like relationships, care, and appreciation!
That is awesome to hear Lorie! 🙂 I couldn’t agree more that creating an atmosphere of unity is so important for keeping people active.
