Big dreams of becoming the Netflix of toys is a great idea in theory. Great ideas often take a lot of work and logistics hashed out to make the idea look simple on the outside looking in.

Have you made a decision that in hindsight might not have made sense in retrospect?

Seems Mark and Kevin did Robert a favor by cutting him out of the deal

That’s so heartbreaking. I wasn’t following Kevin’s strategy of negotiating with large toy companies. They are in the business of selling toys. Assisting a Company that rents/recycles toys will compete with their interest.

Yeah, definitely true. Though I could see getting up and coming toy companies that are wanting to work with her to gain market/mind share in the short term.

Mark always refers to this company as the deal that failed saying that she rather do interviews than run the business

I’ve watched a lot of Cuban interviews I can’t recall which video exactly but he always mentions toy garoo and the chocolate covered pretzels deals as his duds. Sorry no links but all shark tank products website corroborates that the toygaroo is no more. “
Toygaroo was a rental service for toys, like Netflix is for DVDs. After your children tire of a toy, it was sent back and replaced with a different one. Although Toygaroo got a deal with Mark Cuban, there were problems with its business model and the company declared bankruptcy in 2012.”

This is another pitch that illustrates how important the entrepreneur and their character are! My question is why didn’t she have a legitimate answer to explain the company’s uneven equity distribution between herself and her partner? She kinda showed herself to be incompetent and not good at making things happen right there! If she had legit plans of hustling for the company and making $ she would have demanded her husband share the equity evenly with her. Who wants to be the one hustling only to not get their fair share of profits
