Is the Bernoulli’s principle, he didn’t invented nor discovered anything, he “blowed” (pun intended) them up demonstrating a well known physics phenomenon and a plastic bag. Go and blow like that on a large trash bag and you will be surprised
I saw this comment on a shorter video of this company, copied: “This is probably the most tragic episode, and most people don’t know it. The deal he did end up getting was better than he asked for… But he was involved in litigation with a company that made a knock-off product with the same technology, and the deal fell through, despite him later winning and getting the full patent. Then 2 weeks after this episode, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and he passed away in 2018. His wife tried to make the company successful but failed and the company no longer exists.”

Also, yesterday I was discussing a pay raise with one of our team members and I paused the conversation and said let me figure out what the math is to help solve their conundrum. I have gone through a lot of air mattresses. Iv’e concluded, they are all designed to fail.. I found it interesting, Kevin said, “there are some big players in the air mattress industry”. BUT if you blow AT the wide open bag “entry” with the bag SEPARATED from your mouth, you create a low air pressure area: the air stream you’re blowing is moving FASTER than the air around, as a fluid (air is a fluid): Fast Air = Low Pressure (contrary at what your logic could tell) and the Slow air surrounding the bag is at a higher pressure (slow fluid = high pressure). when there’s this difference in pressure, higher pressure fluid will move into or get “pulled” into the low pressure fluid thus a LOT more air than the one you had in your lungs will get into the bag, as the air around the opening of the bag is getting pulled into it because of the pressure differential. You can try for yourself with any long/big bag (a huge trash bag for example). No special technology required.

Just for everyone wondering. Product was “windcatcher”. He received multiple offers from other sharks up to $200k (and backing purchase orders) for 20% he ended up doing a deal with Lori for $200k+ backing purchase orders for 5%. Kevin interrupts during the negotiations with others dropping his equity down to 1% but did not get the deal.

This was a very sad story. He died of pancreatic and liver cancer shortly after this. He made the mistake of trusting a company, Cascade Design, who according to Ryan broke the nondisclosure agreement he made with them, and they promptly stole his idea and marketed it themselves, according to him. I actually read his counterclaim against him them when they sued HIM for “unfair competition”, when he complained about them ripping him off. In the lawsuit, the judge seems to have been a complete moron who understood nothing about patent law. This idiot actually said that because Ryan “made the mistake” of sharing his idea in a nondisclosure agreement, and because he “made his technology public” by obtaining a patent (yes, you read that right), that Ryan had given up any protections he may have had for his product not to be copied. That’s right. This “judge” who oversaw an intellectual property case decided that nondisclosure agreements and patents provide no legal protection from theft, and dismissed his case on that basis. Look it up; it’s beyond incoherent, and the judge should have been thrown off the bench and his decision voided, in my opinion. Ryan died shortly after that, despite going through chemotherapy. This is by far the saddest and most unjust story I have ever read about, with the justice system (or an incompetent moron of a judge, at least) siding with the criminals, and not the victim of intellectual property theft and patent infringement.
I think the real villain in this is Casade Design, and they deserve to be sued in civil litigation in front of a judge that is competent.

I can’t believe that the first offer was at a 300% interest rate on the return and then 15% interest in the company and then wanting 6% in royalties on all sales made. That’s robbery. It’s a bullshit deal…but if his company breaks 20million in value, Kevin’s deal would sound sweeter, because you only needa give him 3%+$800,000, instead of the proposed the whole 8% without the venture debt. If my math is right that 8% is actually worth $1M MORE than Kevin’s offer, he’d lose $1M if he sold at that. Unfortunately, his company capped at $4M and a corporate giant tried to steal his idea resulting in a lawsuit he won, but drained his funds. He passed away after from cancer, but continued to invent even through the hardship. RIP, brilliant manz
