I bought one a few weeks ago and put it on last week to my 2022 f-150. Just to touch on some points you mentioned. It’s very rugged. I drove to my storage unit today to pack some gym equipment. I was able to strap some of the gear right on top of the inflatable. It’s super rugged and solid. Not like a pool float or something, it’s solid. I drove about 80MPH for 30 miles each way with the gear strapped on top and it didn’t move at all. A lot of your questions are also answered on their IG and YT shorts. They flip it over and go rafting on it. They also run it over with a tractor. Suits my need perfectly. Lastly I messaged them with an issue on IG and Ken immediately asked for my cell number and called me back within 30 minutes.

You’re right on DTC, retail would be dead for them. Look at where the traffic is coming from to this market? It’s coming from specific searches. People who want toppers are the ones buying toppers. You don’t walk down an isle in a retail store, see a topper and say oh I want that.
No, you already have done the research, know what it is, and have decided it’s for you. Now you’re a bottom of funnel customer and shopping to buy one.. THAT is the target market for these guys. Catch those bottom of funnel customers shopping for toppers, and divert them over to a new option that they have, and people will like “oh wait.. This might be a better option” for me. That’s the target market, and they will do way better diverting traffic at bottom of funnel to their product instead. I can see the Google ads now “Looking for a topper? What if there’s a better option?”
