As a person of Caucasian descent, I have cherished memories of my early years, filled with the delightful flavors of Mexican candy. From a young age, I developed a profound appreciation for the distinct and lively taste that these sweet confections offered. Whether it was the tangy tamarind candies or the spicy chili-coated lollipops, each bite was a burst of excitement for my taste buds. The vibrant packaging and enticing aromas only heightened the appeal of these delicious treats. As I matured, my love for Mexican candy grew even stronger, and I found myself exploring the wide array of options available. From the chewy and fruity pulparindos to the mouthwatering marzipan treats, there was always something new and thrilling to sample. Mexican candy became more than just an indulgence for me. Even now, as an adult, I persistently seek out these nostalgic flavors whenever possible, allowing the taste of my childhood to transport me back to simpler times. Growing up in Los Angeles, I have had the incredible opportunity to be fully immersed in the vibrant Latin culture that surrounds me. As a white individual, this unique experience has allowed me to gain a deep appreciation for the customs, traditions, and flavors that define this diverse community. One aspect of Latin culture that has particularly captivated my taste buds is the incredible array of mouthwatering cuisine. From the moment I first indulged in the tantalizing flavors of sweet and sour candy to the fiery kick of spicy treats, I was instantly hooked. These delectable delights have not only become a personal favorite of mine but have also gained immense popularity among millennials and Gen Z individuals from all walks of life. With the Latin demographic in America experiencing rapid growth, it comes as no surprise that this cultural influence has profoundly shaped consumer tastes, starting from a young age. In particular, Hispanic children have been exposed to a wide range of flavors, textures, and aromas that have left an indelible mark on their preferences. In any Latin-influenced area in the United States, a wide range of specialized food products can be found to cater to the local community. In Los Angeles, the primary focus is on meeting the needs of the Mexican population, offering a variety of items such as candy, savory snacks like chips, and indulgent treats like flan.

You’re of a European decent not Caucasian. If you were of Caucasian decent than you’re from either Armenia Azerbaijan or Georgia which are the countries in region of Caucasus mountains they are the ethnic Caucasians decent. CaucASIAN means Asians of Caucasus mountain region. The word Caucasian has th Asian in it which applies to real Caucasians who are of west Asian descent.

You are of a European decent a Anglo Saxon decent you’re not Georgian Armenian or Azerbaijani etc there is South Caucasus is Armenia and Azerbaijan and north Caucasus is Georgia and other republics who are ethnically all west Asians which is where the meaning of Cauc-Asian. Comes from Asians of Caucasus mountain region which js located in west Asia! Hope this helps! There is always a misconception with this term used in US

I hope you get a chance to try it but it’s not a chewy texture. Her product is more of a sauce. There are versions of Chamoy that are thicker but this one is not. I love her version on mango and watermelon.

It is such a great product! I’m chicana and love love loooove chamoy. It’s central to so many mexican candies, and usually really high in sugar and sodium. Her Chamoy is transforming a beloved staple into something I can enjoy without worry, and share with family members who love chamoy but have health concerns (Diabetic, High blood pressure, etc.)

I have seen so many shark tanks and knew they wouldn’t make a deal. Here’s why, they try to avoid anything they aren’t familiar with or can understand. I think she pushed the “mexican” theme way too much to a point they looked at it as just a mexican market and then probably thought I am too white to understand and work with this product.
What l would have done different is talked about how chamoy is like ketchup to us. That we use it in our everyday life, a part of our grocery list and that people from different countries use it. That she needed a partner to help her get her product all across all grocery stores and explained to them that yes it’s a mexican sauce and they may think that there is not much of a market it and proceed to ask them have they went to a walmart? Did they know that walmart carrie’s a whole food section for hispanic foods, that is how much of a market she can expand her product. she should have put effort in explaining it as a sauce rather than candy. yes we use it on candy but I think saying it’s candy lowered her chances on a deal. Candy is not part of a grocery list, chamoy is. Needing to have chamoy in your pantry is like needing to have mayonnaise. Again, she did way to much on the mexican theme, the piñata , the mariachi… I get it she is proud of our culture, but she wasn’t selling our culture. she needed a partner, and nun of those sharks are mexican. they can like the culture and all but with all that theme even I felt they couldn’t contribute much lol She should have put more effort explaining why it would sell in stores and less how mexican and candy it is. Even joe was confused on how big the market is because of the candy aspect of it etc.

    Lmao
Buddy you’re living under a rock.
She refers to it as candy because this is how this flavor originated from and in time, it turned to a sauce where ppl put on their fruits, drinks, etc.

We don’t count to 5, I can tell she wasn’t born or raised in Mexico, we sing “Dale, Dale,Dale , No pierdas el tino, porque si lo pierdes, pierdes el camino, ya le diste una, ya le diste dos, ya le diste tres y tu tiempo se acabó.

Most Mexican candies are spicy/tangy, so most kids, including me grow up loving that kick in our candy, and specially having a sauce to add (Chamoy) it is very versatile, and you can add it in many things. And trust me KIDS LOVE IT.

How have you not heard of Chamoy?! It’s the ultimate Mexican topping candy and even other candy brands use chamoy. LUCAS is one of them and their candy is great but lots of sugar.

It depends on what age group of kids you’re asking about. Teens and older kids of about 9 years and older will tear these up. Especially with more and more kids becoming diabetic.

If you eat chamoy then the name or the fact that it says candy won’t confuse you.

As a Mexican I think Mr. Wonderful gave her a good offer. But good luck to her and hopefully it works out.
