Man USA is a big Country, If Colorado doesn’t have much water. Then don’t make it produce crops.
I’d be extreme and say Pools should be banned
Don’t use water that’s from underground (It will be depleted soon) Buy it from another state. Use woke power to subsidize that supply chain towards that water trade.
it doesn’t make sense!
It’s like Germany (Winter Country) double downing on Solar Energy.
He’s the real life version Kenny from the Walking Dead game with a softer heart. Wish we have more people like Johnny in this world.
@@welsunsig6715 You too
damn fr he looks just like him too haha, johnnys awesome
No, he is the real life “Jimmy Stewart” from the Christmas movie “It’s A Wonderful Life”.
One of the best pitch which i loved and watched more than 20 times.. thanks for reviewing.
I saw this one like a decade ago. Thanks for covering this one! This was an especially memorable one. Poor farmer
he can easily sell a billion of these and make a billion dollars 1 dollar profit is good. if you got scale. think of all the citrus trees in america..
this is 1 of my favorite products ever show on the show.
No you can’t. You need people to sell the product for you, marketing, customer service etc. Scaling a business costs money.
1 dollar profit is good for 1 person clown. Do you understand anything Kevin was saying. If he wants to sell those 1 billion trees he needs workers. He can’t do it alone. That’s why Kevin said he needs 2000 johnnys to sell those trees. 1 dollar profit is nowhere near enough to pay those 2000 workers.
Hug a Farmer
What a jerk… Tearjerker that is! Mad love
Yeah it is! 🙂
Absolutely!! I appreciate you as always Farmer Jeff!
Hey Joe, I thought your title for this episode was really “clickbait-ey”. There wasnt much focus on what kevin said and tbh what he said wasnt all that bad, just realistic if you want to get in bed with a distributor who will want to make a profit
Just giving my two cents for what it’s worth. Keep up the super work!
its nice to see a company not gouging its customers with 3000% profit margins like other companies do.
It is $9 now, it was 4.50
Yearly inflation is 3.5% x 10= 35% total, and with that added to the original 4.50 , it comes out to 5.93 dollars, plus the increase of production costs, delivery and fuel, it is still manageable, and that is the average consumer rate of 9.95, not wholesale
A heads-up, inflation over multiple years is calculated in the following way: ((1.035^10)-1)*100 = 41%. Which instead leads to a new cost of 6.35 dollars. Your point stands even greater now!
@@woozy607that was 11 years ago
Maybe the most memorable pitch (and I think I have seen them all).
Blessings
Oh my god Johnny is so cute. Classic good guy trying to “do good to the farmers”
So glad John Paul stepped up to save the day. Thanks for covering this pitch Joe!
When looking at the profit margins, no one’s thinking about how far down they can drive the manufacturing costs with volume. Right now, working within five counties selling 127,000 units it cost $2.50 to make each one
Pump that up to 3-4 million units expanding outside of those counties and especially California, Arizona, New Mexico.
I would imagine he can drive his cost down below a dollar per unit
The customer acquisition cost is not based on per unit-but per thousands of units. So I don’t think you should hike this up to $12 per-
should not be gouging
Based on his story, about 40% of 127,000 units he’s sold, went to that one woman who wanted 50,000 total
And although they’re designed to last five years, they’ll crack, get dirty, need replacing.
Municipalities and towns maybe purchasing these, we don’t need to be gouging the taxpayers to save water.
This is a great idea, providing it doesn’t lead to root rot, nor mess with mother nature.
That’s such a good point. I was also wondering if usually they have one sprinkler per tree?
Kevin could easily stand behind this guy and a good cause, but no, instead he has no problem backing scoundrels like FTX scammers.. says a lot about him
I appreciate you watching and commenting peptide.
I’m so happy he got an offer. Started off nervous end handled it like a champ, ended it off like a CHAMP….
I grew up on a farm…this is the best shark tank episode, presentation for me, personally!
Possibly my favorite Shark Tank experience. Does anyone know how it turned out?
company worth 100 million today and tree t pe is sold in 80 countries
JP is a an enigma on this earth, the only billionaire that gives solid life advice that you can apply right away and truly live by.Amazing how he’s not super famous or known compared to other billionaires but his brands are. His advice truly works and he’s probably the only billionaire in a room of billionaires who would have invested in this guy because he understands how important food and farmers is more than money.
Prolly didn’t sell his soul, unlike most of the other “self made” billionaires
God bless Johnny. This man deserves everything good he gets
I have the pleasure of saying that Mr
Georges is a good acquaintance of mine. He is one of the most down to earth people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. I can definitely say that he is as humble in person as he is on this video.
I’m so glad to hear that. I appreciate you watching and commenting James!
I used to spin micro jets at George’s enterprises back in the 80’s with my buddies, Ben and Brad. Johhny was like our big brother.
Just saw the most important pitch made on shark tank
bro please shut up. we all js clicked this vid only because og vid got taken down. no one rly here to see u bud lmao
I appreciate you Ye.
I think you are sorely mistaken about the margin that farmers have to work with, and government subsidies to farmers can often make or break their farm. The price of food going up isn’t because farmers are driving around in Benz and BMW, it’s because of fuel prices and taxes. Farmers are like Johnny, they make enough to feed their families and get by. They try to do right by their communities, just good honest hard working people, you genuinely can’t find in a city anymore.
John Paul definitely earned my respect. Such a great act.
I used to work for Johnny’s dad l, Rick, in the 80’s.
what did you guys work on
@@TCP_dizzy-kf6rx I spun micro jet sprayers on to irrigation tubing(the same sprayer used in the tree teepee). I also worked on the warehouse/stock yard. George’s enterprise did irrigation systems for produce fields and citrus groves.
@@TCP_dizzy-kf6rx we worked on planning an installation of irrigation systems for citrus groves and crop fields.
When you findout why good Ole Johnny ain’t overpaying is all the reason farmers will always back that man. Was a genius decision by him in honor of his pops. He raised a good man
The sharks are sht. John Paul saved the day
Bro just shut the fuck up and let the video play
I appreciate you James. This is a business education channel.
The looks on these sharks faces is appalling. He’s a farmer but he ain’t dumb. He ain’t dumb because he has an innovative product. He’s not dumb because he’s there seeking those distribution lines. Why do these people who live in their ivory towers look down on the Jonnys of the world?
All they see is what money they can make off of him.
It’s people like Johnny that make this world a better place. Thank you Johnny!
You’re difficult to watch Joe. Nice story, but….
I appreciate you watching and commenting. This is a business education channel.
@@SuperJoePardo it’s not the topic
I appreciate you watching and commenting. What would you say happened?
I appreciate you watching and commenting. The government subsidizes plenty of other things, why not increased food efficiency?
I agree with how out of reality the sharks look when they hear the guy is only selling to 5 counties. What do expect from the guy. We aren’t all well connected CEO’s.
It’s sad that a 1$ per unit isn’t good. We have become such a country of consuming everything so quickly and without a thought of what we are doing. I mean just look at the waste of k cups. Yet we could all get a reusable cup and by coffee but we don’t. Even tho that much cheaper and better for the environment.
Sorry for ranting joe. But again the reason this isn’t a product already is because it only helps the farmer right. By it helping the farmer with cost it is now going to effect what the California water department is going to get and then that goes back to even bigger government higher ups. It’s an awful game we play with why some products don’t make it to market and other crazy loopholes and who knows.
All of you lazy POS DEI babies should watch this
This is saying a lot, considering he went on national television and said that he should be able to not pay his taxes and that being a crook is just part of the business
Anyone else just looking for the shark tank clip then suddenly this random guy pops in like ding ding ding something something something dark side?
I appreciate you watching and commenting Jesse. This is a business education channel.
I hate these edits. I’m sure he had to stand the while the Sharks did multiple takes, but he gets edited into a fool.
THEY COST $10
This aired 12 years ago! Everything has gone up quite a bit in the last 12 years
Four of the sharks need to remember life its not all about money. I hope what they witnessed is a wake up call to change their minds and help others change the world for the better.
God bless our farmers ❤
Why do these people have to commentate Jesus
I appreciate you Kenneth. This is a business education channel.
Johnny is a true American that power this country during it’s beginning to what it is now. Kevin is a snake who’s currently destroying everything that is great about the country just so they can hoard money to fill his empty soul.
Since 1986.
Ummmmm acouple of trees ARE not a grove dumbass
Did Johnny appear on this show?
This is an example of socialism vs kapitalism. Socialism tries to help as much people as possible, kapitalism just wants to make money.
Not even close.
this is the man everyone should strive to be
Fuck yeah Jonny. Stand up guy.
Lord how come when he starts crying… I WANNA START CRYING
Does anyone know what episode this is??
They’re 9.95 now.
After 11 years
I appreciate you. This is a business education channel.
He was gonna cry. He didn’t want to speed up
Tripping he didn’t fumble he nearly teared up, he needed a moment to not cry cause his passionate about what his doing… This guys got Autism he can’t clock emotions.
whats wrong w this youtuber, is he ok , just cry it out and report
Good to see, that there are ppl that dont see customers just as cashcows.
Support our farmers! If farmers spend less you spend less. Basic economics. Source spends less money they charge less.
his innocent words ” You are selling to farmers” shows his love and concern for them, its not just him making money he is worried about them, that expression was so touching. wish him a very good luck and may god send more and more Johnny’s to earh and ofcourse more and more John Paul DeJoria
13:47 IS THE BEST PART!!
Real recognizes real, period.
The fact these buzzards weren’t interested is telling.
Why this isn’t on every tree right now i dont get… This man is my idol, never change sir!
All the talk of profit and money, but what about the actual usefullnes and benefits this product does. All of it is wonderful.
talking about freezing up and you are freezing up on a recorded video as you are talking about him freezing up. one that you can edit and he cant. yet you want people to take you serious?
Listening to him talk about his dad made me well up. What a fantastic human being.
At First, I was like there is so many dislikes to the video, and then when we got to 15:45 and onwards, this guys started talking out of his A$$ and I he has no idea what makes a difference to a farmer and what not.
So yeah, dislikes are in place.
I appreciate you watching and commenting Atom. At that point in the video I am talking about taking investor money to hire lobbyists in states/federal to get your customers government subsidies to increase sales at a faster rate.
He said brain fart or editing? No Johnny was emotional because he’s a good person
Kevin is exactly what’s wrong w the world and that’s why farmers can’t do what they need to anymore w the proper equipment, yall are raising the prices so you can be as rich as possible, not caring about the people.
Now the company is worth over $100m
I appreciate you watching and commenting Andrew. What is your source for it to be worth $100m?
A VIDEO FOR HUMANITY AND THE LOOKS ON EVERY ONES FACES TELLS EVERY ONES STORY HOW THEY TREET HUMANITY 100%LOVE AND RESPECT FOR JP AND JONNY
Love you Johny changing the world brother ❤️
If there are 1000 plants in a small farm then if we increase the price from 6 to 12 then it will be 12k dollars. So yeah, he was right.
Yeah, if they can afford it.
My boy has 16K subscribers and asked Johnny if hes watching just drop a comment and we’ll make that happen. Johnny sold 16,000 tree t pees while I watched *his* video
I appreciate you watching and commenting. I’ve interviewed over 75 past entrepreneurs from Shark Tank here on the channel. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqvIutEsQqv5zBtDroJXwtsbZoVdKLb7A
Everyone saying this thing is $10 now please realize this aired in 2013!! 11 years ago! Everything has gone up!
All the “Sharks” had tears in their eyes and respect in their hearts for this humble, yet great man who was raised by a good man. After 12 years, he still miss his Dad immensely.
They had tears in their eyes but could not forgo $6 of ADDITIONAL profit to an idea that would still be an ATM for them?
That is Fake appreciation.
Would love to see Johnny interview on your channel. First time watching you and I would definitely love to see what kind of interviewer you are
I appreciate you Karina! There is a whole playlist of interviews I’ve done with past Shark Tank entrepreneurs. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqvIutEsQqv5zBtDroJXwtsbZoVdKLb7A
Kevin is a greedy fcuker who looks for profit not value added
Bet with anyone $$ against peanuts he is from chosen garlic tribe
I just seen the video of this entirely and it was heartbreaking. What he said towards the end of it not only put tears in my eyes, but also tears in the eyes of the Sharks. What a beautiful soul and his parents should be proud of the main he has become.
Watching him fumble on that opening presentation, and knowing why he’s doing this, is more powerful than if he had perfect delivery. He’s clearly not some slick salesman with a fancy advertising designer, he just has a worthwhile product and a cause he believes in and if he has to recite his planned speech in his head while standing awkwardly in silence, he’s just gonna truck right on through it.
Dude is on a mission, and he doesn’t care if his skills aren’t perfect in some areas, because they only have to be good enough to get across the finish line.
Edit: 100k units of product made before even showing up on Shark Tank? For _real_ dude was on a mission.
Also none of the sharks were thinking about the real end game: government subsidies. A farming device that saves more than 95% of your water usage? For real? We as a country should be chomping at the bit to try and get these products into the hands of farmers. Hell the state of California alone spends like $5 billion a year fighting fires that are being caused by excessive irrigation for farming. They should just like, buy this dude’s company for like a billion dollars and start making these things themselves. It would save the state money, probably within the first year.
I mean if this dude’s claims are as good as he says they are, and if these things can work on a wide range of agricultural crops? That doesn’t just save product from dying and cut down on the water costs, it’s a huge benefit to the environment. Excessive irrigation is one of the major mechanisms of large scale ecological destruction; anything we can do to limit it has clear and immediate moral and practical value.
Edit edit: I see you do bring up the point of subsidies toward the end. Yes, exactly!
Why did it take this episode to realize these investors are a bunch of snakes.
Its not a “win win” to jack up the price of something which is practically essential. This isn’t a luxury, its not a sports car.
You want taxpayers to subsidize this so that investors can make more money? I get what your doing its a business oriented channel but you gotta have some morals.
1:58 I think the reason why he paused in the middle of his sentence was probably because he was getting all emotional about his father. In the end, he said that he died.
This guy just yaps
I appreciate you Gera. This is a business education channel.
I’m here in 2024. I am so pleased to hear that Johnys company is now worth 100mils. He deserves it.
Thank you for keeping your point of view in such a great balance, rather than inclining on the sharks’ experience and power.
Thank you Tatiana! I appreciate you!
Lowest point? O’leary is low from birth… His parents gave him money to start his first business…. He’s a joke
11 years later and they are still less than $10
Won’t it out grow the bucket thing
The world don’t deserve him… my heart
I appreciate you Sandra! I agree.
Well they are selling it for $9.99 now! And only black ones not white which woukd br more effective at reflecting sun.
You would think that after becoming $100M worth and going international they would be able to bring the price down not higher!
Its because now distributer involved and taxes tariff changed in world market cmon its 11 year before
This man is 1000x more of a man than Kevin. Wish men understood that this is an example of true masculinity.
I appreciate you Wenzer!
The way he said “they’re farmers” breaks my heart
As it should. I appreciate you watching and commenting Brandy.
Love at 11:27 where hes really starting to catch his stride
I appreciate you Patricia!
Kevin just exposed himself thats all
Yup. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I’m in sales, and Kevin needed to put it in terms that are important to Johnny.
Kevin was talking about increasing profits, but he should have said, “If you want to help MORE farmers, you need to raise the price just enough to get a distributor and marketer involved. That will increase your cost, and necessitate a price bump, but the benefit to you is that you can help 1000x more farmers.”
And these teepees will pay for themselves in water savings alone in a matter of weeks. We can even work out financing for the farmers so they can pay us off the water savings and not come out of pocket”
Sharks always piss me off for being mad amateurs are not doing certain stuff
i came here for shark tank who tf is this loser
It’s tipi! Not tee-pee!
Come on now!
I’d wish the YouTuber wouldn’t talk as much so I can enjoy the content
I appreciate you Gary. This is a business education channel.
Even in places where the water is “free” it’s still being diverted to growing when it doesn’t need to be. The US isn’t any stranger to drought, any farmer worth a damn would jump at the chance to have to use less water to achieve the same results, because they all understand how important that resource actually is. And while I do think a sound economic analysis is a good idea, with farmers it cant’ be the only consideration. Most good farmers don’t just make more money and blow it all on themselves, they reinvest it into their farms and their livelihood, to enhance or expand what they’ve got, to ensure the best results and the most sustainable outcomes. They’re among the last people that a business should be trying to wring ever last cent out of.
Thanks for this review, amazing people doing amazing things for amazing people. Awesome.
Absolutely Johnny is! You’re welcome and I appreciate you JAlcocer.
Me Horrible’s whole life is a despicable low moment
what does Kevin have to do with this?
U stupid coming in between the video looks dumb as hell
I appreciate you. This is a business education channel. And Johnny Georges loved it.
Take a guy who is making an honest living, taking care of the farmers who feed our nation and look at it only at the money side and not at the total growth.
Paul Mitchell is a great guy very generous in person. I seen him on and off for almost 37 years he treats people like human beings so this show shows his true personality
That is great to hear! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
“Tell your dad he is a great man
Sure, but tell yours you are greedy man
its worth 100 million today…. respect sir
I saw him 10 years ago at the International Ag Expo in California. With the cost of water and water shortage in California, he probably does very well.
His company is now worth over 100million
Jean Claude. Took a chance on him,, because he saw his WHOLEHEARTEDNESS,,,,,,$150,000 IS NOTHING FOR THAT MAN,,,,,,To put up for a man he saw making pennies on a dollar! That’s what it’s all about! Thanks Johnny!!!!
Him having a brain fart wasn’t my takeaway from his pause. It looked like he was getting emotional.
When greedy people realize they’ve lost their way by a man who isn’t consumed by money they get insecure.
Click-bait title in my opinion. Kevin’s lowest moment? No, not even close.
Cloudfare blocked me from visiting the website :/
Kevin O’leary only looking after himself look what he is doing to America now selfish self serving A#$h@!%
it is too good we are in a society business markett that shit has to ware out be done and replace
